Danaids, 2006, 49 cast resin elements (36 x 13 x 17 cm each), dirt
Danaids makes use of a mundane object used throughout China: the nuan shui hu—hot water bottle. The project incorporates this form to draw into conversation the Greek myth of the Danaids and the reality of modern Beijing. Each resin element is to be installed on top of a small plot of dirt.
